The Edmonds Bicycle Advocacy Group, EBAG, will host their monthly meeting May 19th, 7:30-9:00 PM at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main Street, room 206, in downtown Edmonds.

This small group of Edmonds residents has been working with the City of Edmonds, Snohomish County and other local transportation departments to raise safety awareness for both cyclists and pedestrians over the past 15 years.  EBAG welcomes anyone interested in attending the regular monthly meetings, usually the 3rd Wednesday.  Unless a special occasion, the meetings are held at the Frances Anderson Center in downtown Edmonds from 7:30 to 9 PM.  In June, the Edmonds Art Festival takes over the entire building, so the bike group will organize a ride rather than a meeting for that month.  In December, the annual meeting is more of a party, briefly planning the activities for the next year.

EBAG presents a pancake breakfast the last Sunday of September for the Cascade Bicycle Club Kitsap Color Classic Ride on the Kitsap Peninsula.  This breakfast is the only fund raiser, where proceeds go to sponsor bicycle racks around the city of Edmonds.  If you see a CORA rack at the Port of Edmonds, in front of Frontier Bank, at local churches or other locations around the City, it is due to the Edmonds Bicycle Advocacy Group's funds donating the racks.

EBAG set up the first early morning Edmonds Bike to Work day on May 15, 2009, sponsored by Community Transit and Snohomish County.  Look for notices annually for this event, a nationwide celebration of cycling in the U.S.
